When My Mixtape Drops

In the year 2020, the answer to all problems  will be released to the world. It's my mixtape. Smoke the rapper will release his debut album and it will take the world by storm. (He's called Smoke because his lyrics are so hot) The album is called 2020 vision. It comes out on Itunes, Amazon Music, Google Play, IHeart Radio, Spotify, Soundcloud, and the Nintendo Eshop.

In addition to the greatest rapper of all time being the main talent, the album will also feature some of the best artists of all time. Tupac, Biggie Smalls, and Eazy E have all agreed to do a song with me. One artist has already recorded his song with me. His name is Frankie Muniz.

Once my mixtape is released, most of the worlds problems will be solved by it. In addition to providing warmth to everyone because the tracks are so fire, the morale of people will be so high that we'll all get together and decide to end world hunger.  But until it drops, this is what you'll see at the music store....

#StopTheDab2k16

Cam Newton did it. He lost the Super Bowl. Squidward did it. His life sucks. Hillary did it. She lost the election. Steph Curry did it. He blew a 3-1 lead in the NBA finals. What did all of these people do you ask? They all dabbed. That's right.

The dab has become a plague upon our nation and must be stopped at all costs. Those who do this move are sure to suffer a terrible fate sometimes worse than death. As of right now there is no known cure for the dab, even though it is currently killing hundreds daily. We should be investing all our resources into stopping this once and for all.  If Jesus comes back now and sees us all dabbing, he would go back to heaven for 4000 more years. Yes, it is that serious. While you were reading this blog, the dab killed approximately eight people. If you or someone you know has dabbed, go this website immediately: www.StopTheDab.gov  That's right, an official government website. #StopTheDab2k16

Let's Plays

As one of the relatively newest art mediums, video games have different ways of gaining exposure. Much like MTV and the music video were perfect for each other, video games and YouTube let's plays are a match made in heaven. For those who don't know, a let's play is when a person records themselves playing a video game and records themselves either through an actual camera or with the use of a capture card.  The idea behind it is like hanging out with a friend and watch them play through a game. Some gamers are also known for their ''freakouts'' during a gameplay. Usually those types of videos tend to get the most views. Honestly, doing let's plays has been something that has always personally appealed to me. Something about the idea of going along a gaming journey sounds super fun. I'm more into sports broadcasting, but doing something like this on the side would make me really happy. With the equipment at my disposal, now would be the time if I ever wanted to do it....

My Favorite TV Show!

Who loves orange soda?

My favorite television show of all time is the 90's Nickelodeon comedy Kenan and Kel. If you don't know the show, it's about two teenagers who get into all kinds of mischief. If you've seen Drake and Josh, it's  pretty similar to that. Most of the episodes revolve around misconception and getting deeper and deeper into trouble. I wouldn't call Kenan the brains but, he often comes up with ideas that get him and himself into trouble. Kel is a goofball who often makes Kenan's bad plans even worse by screwing around. I admit, it's certainly not the best written show, but it makes me laugh so hard. Like in one episode, where Kenan decides he needs life goals, he drags Kel to the top of the sears tower and they end up hanging on a scaffold under a sign that says "Kenan Loves Brian" Yeah, some of the plots are even more outlandish than that or so simple that it's unbelievable like where Kenan gets his head stuck in a fence. This show can still make me cry of laughter even though I've seen them tons of times. Go watch em!!!!!!!

Sick of Apathy

- I'm sick of apathy.
- I'm sick of doing nothing.
- I'm sick of watching from the sidelines.
- I'm sick of doing things that only benefit myself.
- I'm sick of watching the world struggle.
- I'm sick of making no difference.
- I'm sick of apathy.

Everyday when I wake up, I wake up in a bed, in a building with heat, not starving or dying of thirst, with access to a bathroom, with nothing real to worry about.  Everyday when billions across the world wake up, they can't even imagine having the luxuries that we think nothing of. And yet, I do absolutely nothing in my power to help. Obviously, some cases are out of my hands, I can't do much about tyrannical dictators thousands of miles away. But going to classes, even though it's nice for me to learn about, doesn't change the fact that countless people don't know if they will be able to eat today. Hanging out with my friends, while always fun, doesn't change the fact that millions are dying in Africa due to preventable diseases.

Every time I see someone much less fortunate than me, I can almost hear God yelling at me. It's like he's saying "You have been given so much. Yet, you have done nothing for my children." I'm here breathing on this earth for a reason. Unless I dedicate my life to others, what would the point be? After I pass away, the earth will be still turning and life will go on. So in the short amount of time that I am here, it is clear to me that improving the quality of life for as many people as I can is what God has called me to do.

On my senior board, my friend Elle wrote "Congrats Josh Wilson! Save the World!" And while I know there is only one who can do that and it isn't me, I still need to do all I can. I need a change. I don't know what that change is, but I know that the way I'm doing things doesn't work for me anymore. So that on the last day I'm able to breathe, I want to be able to say I never gave up on fighting for people. I want to say that I have encouraged others to fight alongside me for the wellbeing of people. Most of all, I want to do God's will, and make help people.

So Long And Goodnight

"What's the worst that I can say?
Things are better if I stay.
So long and goodnight,
So long and goodnight!"

On June 20th of this year, a teaser video was released that made people go crazy. The popular band My Chemical Romance posted a video on their Facebook page of flag twirling and one of their most famous songs playing. A number of people thought this meant that the group would be getting back together after they had stopped making music in 2013. They had broken up with a pretty brief post on Facebook that left a lot of fans upset. My Chemical Romance is known for songs like Teenagers, Helena, S.I.N.G., and Welcome To The Black Parade. As a huge fan of theirs, I was definitely disappointed when I heard that they were breaking up. As a pessimist though, when I saw the teaser video I wasn't as excited as others. And I was right. The band wasn't getting back together at all. They were releasing some of the demos from their album The Black Parade for the tenth anniversary of it. That is appreciated, but is definitely not a reunion tour or a new album.  I think it would be an understatement to say that they could use some public relations help. The last two announcements by the band, the breakup and the demo album, were not handled well at all. Obviously they didn't mean to upset passionate fans in either situation, but there are better ways to do things than that. They should make another album to make up for it. ;)

Animal Farm

In the political satire novel, Animal Farm, George Orwell describes the communist overthrow of the Tsar in Russia and the Stalin Era with anthropomorphic animals. In the story, the boar Old Major is the representation of Karl Marx. His dream, an allusion to the Communist Manifesto, basically says that the humans do nothing, yet are in charge of all the animals. Old Major dies shortly after he reveals his vision. The animals overthrow the farmer, Mr. Jones, and begin to live by the rules that Old Major had in his dream. The pigs are the main intelligence force of this revolution so they take control most of the duties. Of these, Snowball representing Trotsky, and Napoleon representing Stalin, begin to lead most of the operations. All of the animals came up with seven commandments for the new regime. Snowball and Napoleon begin to butt heads, and Snowball is driven away by the dogs Napoleon secretly trained. Like Stalin in Soviet Russia, absolute power corrupts and with his secret dogs and squealer's propaganda, Napoleon is soon the dictator of the farm. The pigs begin to change the commandments and finally change the most important one. "All animals are equal'' was changed to "All animals are equal but some are more equal than others." The animals don't care though because Squealer's propaganda has convinced them that they are still better off then when Mr. Jones was the head. In the end, the pigs slowly become more and more like humans until the other animals cannot tell the difference between them. The others animals struggle is the same, the leader is different. Much like communism would do and did.

A Story Album: American Idiot

One of my favorite albums has always been American Idiot by Green Day. In my opinion, there is not a single bad song on it. Something I didn't always know about this album though, was the fact that it is actually a story told from song to song. There is currently a Broadway play on it. It tells the story of  boy who leaves his hometown, meets a girl, falls in love, gets his heartbroken, and goes back to his hometown. Here is my interpretation of  each song

American Idiot- Pretty much an introduction to the album and shows some of the views of character.

Jesus Of Suburbia- Introduction to the main character of story: Jesus Of Suburbia. The beginning of the song describes his life now: random hookups drugs, and just living the life. He claims there is nothing wrong with him, this is how he is supposed to be. As the song progresses, he becomes increasingly agitated with the town he leaves in. He finally erupts, packs his things, and leaves the town.

Holiday- He is on holiday! He is away from the hateful town and is feeling great!

Boulevard of Broken Dreams- Euphoria has worn off. Our main character is now depressed. He is by himself in a new place thus all the lines about being alone.

Are We the Waiting- He is trying to make sense of all that has gone on to bring him to where he is now. One of the lines "The Jesus of Suburbia,, is a lie' alludes to the fact that he doesn't even know who he is anymore.

St. Jimmy- This is where he takes on an alter ego: St. Jimmy. Jimmy is a maniac

Give Me Novacaine- This song is about Jimmy being high (deep I know)

She's a Rebel- "Jimmy" meets his dream girl, Whatsername.

Extraordinary Girl- This is a typical love song. It describes the relationship between Jimmy and whatsername. Standard affair.

Letterbomb- Whatsername breaks up with Jimmy in a letter. Jimmy is a raging maniac. One of the lines "made me the idiot America" shows exactly how he has become the thing he once hated. The reason whatsername broke up with him was for that reason: he became the American Idiot

Wake Me Up When September Ends: He's depressed about losing it all.

Homecoming- Our main character has had enough. He sheds his false identity of St. Jimmy and goes back the person he once was. He also goes back to town he had been away from for so long, now with hope and a longing to be home.

Whatsername- Recollections of times spent with this girl and in the town and how that time changed him.

F.P.S.U. The Introduction

Former Presidents Secret Unit

On January 21st, the day after the next president takes office, former president Obama wakes up in a strange location. George W Bush wakes him up. He explains to him that Obama, now retired, is part of the Former Presidents Secret Unit, an organization dedicated to fighting crime in ridiculously cool fashion.

On the 200th anniversary of the Illuminati, May 1st 1976, they resurged and tried to take over the world once again. Jimmy Carter was the first to have seen this, but he couldn't do anything about it, he was in the middle of his campaign and he was busy being president until 1981 when he handed over the oval office to Ronald Reagan. After he lost the election, Carter decided to fight the illuminati. He founded the FPSU by himself in 1981 and was the only member until Reagan's two terms were up. Carter contacted Reagan and  they tore shit up for four years.

During this time H. W. Bush was the president and he was kidnapped shortly after by the two of them. This became a staple in FPSU. Now with 3 operatives, the organization was able to do much more work. Carter handled the administration work, was captain of the team, and made poison peanut bombs for attacking. Reagan was the arms captain, he was also known for fighting the drug administration of the Illuminati. HW was the director of Central Intelligence. Then Bill joined the team in 2001, and was the lead FBI agent (Female Body Inspector).

Sadly, in 2004 Reagan passed away which left the team with only 3 members again. To this day no one has completed as many field missions together as Carter and Reagan. They were the original dream team. This was a time of rebuilding for the agency since they had relied on him for so much. The organization wasn't that strong again until HW's son left office in 2009. Now the operation had much more success, With W now handling foreign policy, they were back at full strength again.

Which brings us to now. Neither Bush senior or Carter do field missions anymore. They are way too old and wrinkly.  So they had to wait for Obama to leave office in 2017. With Bill off in a foreign land to combat consent, it is up to Bush junior and Obama to take on the biggest threat the illuminati has ever posed.  It must be stopped. It's up to new agent Obama and Bush to take on this brand new dangerous threat.

     This is their story...

Eminem's Kim: Selective Censorship

One of the songs that made the rap artist Eminem well known is from his 2000 album The Marshall Mathers LP. It's called Kim. The original song can't be found anymore, at least in decent quality. Two words are taken out of it in the new song, the words four and boy. In this part of the song, Eminem is talking about a dead kid. The reason this was censored was the Columbine tragedy was barely a year old and people (rightfully so) were still pretty sensitive about dead children. So that makes sense, but what is the rest of the song about you ask? Well, it's about fantasizing about brutally murdering his wife Kim for cheating on him. It's more powerful to listen to the song, but some of the most notable moments include crazy verbal abuse, dragging Kim out of car by a car, and violently choking her to end her life. So what is the difference between the two? Both are extremely graphic in nature. Yet no words are censored the rest of the song. Personally, I think it should be either or. Either you can handle both things, or you can handle neither. Less so much in cinema, but it television, there is pretty an unspoken rule about not killing children. Like I said, I think both sides can be right but there really shouldn't be a middle ground. In the case of Kim, there were some people who tried to forbid the song from being on his album anymore. the only thing they ended up censoring was the words four and boy. Explicit content labels exist for a reason. Obviously it's up to a parent to decide what their child can listen to until they are mature enough to make their own decisions. If they decide their child isn't ready, that's fine. If a grown adult decides to buy the album and listen to the song, he should be able to make his own decisions about what he hears.

"If ____ wins the Presidency i'll move to Canada"

A saying that is said quite frequently that annoys the hell out of  me is "If (insert name here) wins the Presidency I'll move to Canada or some other foreign  country." That strategy is literally counter productive. If someone who you disagree with on every single issue wins, wouldn't that make you want to stay and fight for the values you believe in and want to be displayed in our country? Giving up on your country  based on an elected official is incredibly unpatriotic. Stay and fight for what you believe in! Frankly it doesn't matter which side you're on. If you're a Republican and a Democrat who supports abortion is put into office, stay and keep fighting for what you believe in. Same goes for Democrats. If a  Republican is put into office who wants to sign anti LGBT legislation, leaving the  would be a sign that you really couldn't care less about what goes on in this country. It doesn't make sense for a person who believes that a country is at their worst to leave then. That is exactly when you should be pushing back the hardest to get the country back to the way it used to be. Much of the arguments are hyperbole, given that the president doesn't make laws, congress does. The supreme court doesn't make laws either, they interpret the constitution. We have checks and balances for a reason guys. But, regardless even if the president somehow takes over and becomes a ruthless dictator hell bent on destroying the world, fight for what you believe in. No matter the result tomorrow, no matter who wins the presidency, no matter who wins the senate, I will still be here, fighting for what I believe in. I would hope you would do the same.

Movie Villains: Grandpa Joe

Grandpa Joe from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is one of the most sinister movie villains of all time, surpassing Voldermort, Darth Sidious, and Scar from Lion King. Why is this you ask? There are a couple of reasons, and they prove that Grandpa Joe is an all time scumbag.

>Grandpa Joe pretends to be bedridden while his daughter and grandchild perform menial labor for minimal pay. How do we know this? The minute Charlie brings home the golden ticket, suddenly he can walk after being in bed for years. And not only walk, but dance around the room. Only a true sociopathic individual would pretend to not be able to walk while his family has to work day and night.
 >Grandpa Joe encourages Charlie to steal more than once. While in the factory, he tells Charlie to steal fizzy lifting drinks because no one is looking. This almost leads to Charlie losing the fortune, but thanks to Charlie's diligence he gives back the everlasting gobstopper and he wins. Which by the way, Grandpa Joe wanted to give to Slugworth. Also before they go into the factory Grandpa Joe says "It doesn't matter where Charlie got the bread" implying that grandpa Joe is a serious criminal.
>Grandpa Joe sees  four children likely die and gives it no thought. In fact, he seems to relish this because it means Charlie can win the contest. Poor, naïve Charlie has no idea. He believes it is like a game. But Grandpa Joe, and the psycho he is, knows.
>Grandpa Joe clearly has not taught his daughter well. This is obviously to cover up his blatant corruption. She states that there are 100 million people in the world (1971). 3,766,754,345 was the actual number. Grandpa Joe is withholding information so everyone else will be dumber and he can stay in control of his family in a kind of unknowing dictatorship

In short, Grandpa Joe  might be the greatest movie villain of all time. He truly represents all wrong in the world today.

Xenoblade Chronicles Part 2

Gameplay: Xenoblade Chronicles is an action RPG that is not turn based, which is a nice change of pace. The battle system is really complicated but easy to learn. Normally I'm not a fan of tutorials in games but they are necessary in a game. Three characters are used to attack enemies and are always on the screen. There are seven total playable characters in the game: Shulk, Reyn, Dunban, Melia, Riki, Sharla, and Seven. Each character plays much differently and is really fun to use. It's fun to experiment with what teams work best and which one works best. If you want a super high damage output, you could go with Shulk, Reyn, and Dunban. If you want a higher ether output, the best team would probably be Melia, Sharla, and Riki. Characters can also earn upgrades from buying new equipment and doing sidequests. Sidequests aren't necessary but definitely help later on because the game has a harsh difficulty curve.

Characters- One of the best parts of this game is the characters and their interactions between each other. The voice acting is excellent and I could see them being friends in real life. Reyn is my favorite character. He is a stereotypical jock in the beginning, but has a well done character acr which makes him at least closest to having the strongest character. All characters are used well and fit the story in the way they need to.

Music- I'll just be honest. The soundtrack in Xenoblade Chronicles is bar none the best I have ever heard. The music fits the world so well. I've listened to the soundtrack so often when I wasn't playing the game. It gets you hyped, makes you want to explore, put you on the verge of tears, or makes you ecstatic.

The bottomline, I've barely scratched the surface on how much I like this game. There are so many things I haven't even got to. Xenoblade Chronicles is mind blowingly good. If you have a Wii or Wii U or neW 3ds, yyou can play it. It's worth the price

Xenoblade Chronicles Part 1

Xenoblade Chronicles is without a doubt my favorite game of all time. In this day and age, it's really the only game I consider to be nearly flawless(nothing is flawless, but this is the closest I have seen to it.) Here are some screenshots from the game.

World- These pictures don't really give proper credit to the magnitude of this game world. It is absurdly huge, and will take over a hundred hours to explore all of it. Also, Xenoblade rewards the player for exploring in the form of experience points. So even though it is optional, going out of your way to explore will benefit you as player through gained experience and finding optional side quests. There is also secret spots that can be found that  usually give a spectacular view  and give huge rewards.

Story- I have never been more invested in to a video game's story than I was with Xenoblade. Most of the time I don't really pay attention to the story, in video games, play for the gameplay (if you want a good story read a book) but with this game, the story is so intriguing and actually affects the gameplay. The story elements enhance the gameplay, how many games can you say that about. Since describing the story would be very long and would rob you of getting to experience it yourself, I'll

give you a brief synopsis. There are two titans, Bionis and Mechonis. Their remains are now the world which the game takes place. The first third of the story is spent fighting the Mechonis forces, called Mechon after they kill a friend. The next third of the game is trying to climb the mechonis and find answers. After the second third, a lot of stuff goes down, and there is a huge twist that would be a shame to find out about from me. The final third is spent trying to make things right. The story has so many beautiful and tragic scenes.

Read this or I'll get naked in class

Now that I have your attention, I would like to talk about a trend in media I've noticed growing a lot in the last few years, particularly on social media: shock value. Shock value is kind of like what I did with the title of the post.  I threatened to get naked in class unless my blog was read. Even though some of you would like to see that,  it would still be pretty crazy. In media people do this all the time, especially with humor. Comedians it seems like are in a race to see who can make the most edgy jokes involving pretty much anything in order to get a shock reaction. And that's all it is, it's not usually funny at all. I ranted about SpongeBob in a blog before this one and that show does that a lot even though it's a kids show and won't go to the level comedians go to. SpongeBob often just throws  in random gore like Squidward ripping his whole eyebrow off or his foot getting absolutely destroyed my moving a couch on it. Neither of those scenes were funny at all, they are just meant to invoke a sharp reaction. A lot of meme pages on facebook are guilty of this too, making jokes about  the holocaust or 9/11 to get a shock laugh. Pretty much nothing offends me, and this doesn't either, but I would imagine it would be to some people.  There is an easy solution to this however. Comedians, write well constructed jokes that make sense and are funny, and don't rely on shock value to entertain your audience, or you'll be shocked when nobody wants to listen to you anymore.

Internet Petitions

I don't know how many of you are aware of this, but one of our professors here at Huntington, Dr. Jack Geller has a petition on change.org which currently has over 110,000 signatures on it. The petition is a noble on to be sure.  It's better explained in the actual page which I linked below, but just to keep things brief: A man was convicted it 1997 for a crime he didn't commit and was sentenced to 40 years in prison. In 2006, DNA exonerated Keith Cooper and he was given an option of staying in prison during another trial process or get out of prison then but still have a felony on his record. Since his family was living in a homeless shelter, he choose to get out then. even though he was innocent, he can't get a steady paying job because of the felony on his record. I'm not sure how Dr. Geller met this man, but he has mentioned in class that he spends some time teaching Shakespeare literature to inmates so that would be a likely assumption. The petition asks Indiana Governor and Vice Presidential candidate Mike Pence to issue a pardon to him. Recently, the story has gotten more attention nationally including a story from the Washington Post and a video segment done on it by the news channel The Young Turks. Many internet petitions like this have become viral in the last few years, mostly involving in social cases like the Brock Turner trial. These petitions make it a lot easier for people of government to see issues truly affecting people. And even a professor from a small university can make a huge difference in fighting for one mans justice.

Euthanize Spongebob

Recently I saw this picture circulating around Facebook with numerous sad responses and sad reactions. Unfortunately, (not for them) the rumor was untrue like the previous one spread in 2013. Why is it unfortunately not cancelled? Long story short, Spongebob has been offensively bad for years now.  Nothing after the first three seasons was the same, and after season 5 they got progressively worse. I realize the older episodes aren't exactly classic television, but they certainly had more to them than Squidward being tortured or Patrick being an idiot for thirty minutes. Whats worse is a lot of these new episodes are just recycled ideas of the first three seasons. They even recycled the same plot in the same tow seasons in season 7! Plankton stole his Grandmas clothes in one episode and in another he stole Sandy's fur. Both times it was used as a disguise to get the Krabby Patty formula, and both times everyone was too dumb to do anything about. This of course is a rehash of the season 2 episode Imitation Krabs where plankton builds a robot suit to pretend to be Mr. Krabs so he can steal the formula. Sound familiar?  This is just one example but there are countless others. The point is, Spongebob is now awful, unfunny show that is only on TV so Nickelodeon can make more cash. It's not even a fraction of what it once was. #EuthanizeSpongebob

Harry Potter and the Half Written Story

(Full spoilers for Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince to follow)

Half Blood Prince is the sixth movie in the Harry Potter franchise and has some of the most questionable story elements in the series. Most of the story revolves around Harry trying to get a professor to give Harry his memories so he can be better equipped to take on Lord Voldermort. the bad guys aren't just sitting on their hands though. They hatched a convoluted plan to kill Dumbledore. So they have this really complex plan to go through a cabinet at the end of the year so they can get into Hogwarts. When they get in there, Draco can't kill Dumbledore so Snape has to do it. Okay? But they wait until the very end of the year to do this. This would have been much better to do it earlier to keep Dumbledore from telling Harry about the Horcruxes. No, instead they spend months putting birds and apples in the cabinet and doing nothing with their life. And the whole process of getting there is stupid too because the two people who might kill Dumbledore, Snape and Draco, ARE ALREADY IN HOGWARTS. Sending extra people is just dumb and pointless and a waste of time. Unless they were going to have the other villains who were there launch a surprise attack on the school during the middle of the night. That would have made too much sense though so they leave in ten minutes. Hey idiots, how about you kill some students while you're there and they're asleep. That way Harry has less people on his side when the major battle comes. Harry Potter's world is full of idiots, similar to ours.

It Doesnt Matter if James Dobson Does Something

It really doesn't matter if James Dobson does something for the Christian community or not. Professor Leeper mentioned in class about a former student whose Mom had worked in a position under Dr. Dobson. What she said was that since he was doing something for the Christian community, it should be accepted. James Dobson accused the popular cartoon character SpongeBob Squarepants of being a symbol of the gay agenda after a video came out. The video in question was a cover of the disco hit "We Are Family" featuring many prominent cartoon characters at the time. Nothing in the video related to homosexuality at all. SpongeBob himself didn't even sing in the video, there was just a few scenes from the cartoon. The video was meant to be shown to young students with the intention of showing togetherness and unity. It had nothing to do with what Dobson mentioned and SpongeBob was barely featured in it. One of the reasons people dislike Christians is because they see people like Dobson attacking a video for trying to bring people together. That's what people see. All of the problems in the world, and they choose to after a cartoon video designed to promote unity. Therefore, it doesn't matter if James Dobson does something. What matters is doing the right thing.
