As of writing this blog today, the Detroit Lions are in first place in the NFC North and are the three seed in the playoffs. Notably, every single game besides the Saints last week was decided by 7 points or less. They really should be paying for fans heart medication. Nonetheless, Matthew Stafford has had his best season yet and it looks like a playoff spot is very likely. What can go wrong? How about everything.
During, the long amount of time I have watched the Lions I have been disappointed by them countless times. I am still salty about the result of the Cowboys and Lions playoff game from a few years ago. Football pessimist could easily be a way to describe me.

Please don't let me down. I'm not expecting a super bowl victory. I want a playoff win. They haven't won in the postseason since !992. The Cubs and Cavs both broke long streaks this year. Why not us?
