  1. I’m the oldest of three siblings.
  1. My favorite movie is Peter Pan (the 2003, live action version).

Who is David McCallister?

If you would like to get to know me, there is one thing you should know; I am just like most of you.

Am I the same? No. No one is the exact same, but we are here for a common purpose. That purpose is what we strive to accomplish. Becoming successful in the position that we have placed ourselves in. For me, it happens to be film. It is the one job that does not feel like a job whatsoever.

A little background information about me, is that I attended a vocational school for my final two years of high school. In those two years, my knowledge of film, grew immensely, learning how to edit video within the first two weeks of classes. I believe that was what really made my interest to film grow so quickly. As a junior, I became a 1st place regional and state Digital Cinematographer in the SkillsUSA competition, thus allowing me to become a national qualifier in the same competition. When my senior year came around, it was almost an exact replica of the previous year, I was once again, a 1st place regional and state cinematographer, which again, allowed me to qualify for nationals. Did I win either year at nationals? No. But, it was the experience that helped me grow, and learn more about becoming a filmmaker.

Who the Heck is Daniel Carpenter?

Who am I?

That’s a really good question. I am many things: a devout christian actively seeking new ways to implement God into his daily life, an award-winning filmmaker who desires to share his ideas with others, and a sensitive, social guy who loves free hugs and having deep conversations with other people. I love movies, especially superhero movies, sci-fi, fantasy, action, thriller, and drama.

What I enjoy more than movies is filmmaking. I’ve been making movies since I was a wee little lad at the age of five. I filmed the majority of my earlier movies all by myself: acting, directing, editing…everything. I have played Revolutionary War heroes, a deaf housekeeper, a vengeful supervillain, and even Jesus. I have won several awards at different film festivals in my area, and I have plans to release a feature length film shortly after graduating.

If you want to check out my work, feel free! My film company, Illusionist Pictures, can be found at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCUZrBmUlMRDw9JuhTuHlhgA and my older films can be found in my archive at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCmdzL9EgvNnnCdmwY9O0Z5Q. It’s a shameless plug, I know, but hopefully some of you guys can check my channels out and recruit me for your projects!
