Jump In

There is a Disney Channel movie called “Jump In.”  It’s two main stars are Corbin Bleu and Keke Palmer and this was when a lot of people really didn’t know who they were as actors.  I still watch this movie to this date because it is such a great movie!  It is about a guy named Izzy Daniels and one of his hobbies that he is known for around the town that he grew up in is boxing.  His dad was a golden gloves champ when he was younger and that is exactly what Izzy wanted to do, at least that’s what his dad thought he wanted to do.  Keke plays a girl name Marry and she is on a double-dutch team.  Double-dutch is a jump rope team that participates in competitions around the state.  When Marry and their team are desperate to find another member for their team, Izzy volunteers and later proves his worthiness to become a member of the team.  This movie teaches us that we should always do what we want to do because it is fun and not because we want to try to impress our parents.  For our parents, watching their kids do something that they love to do will bring a smile to their faces.

Holes

When I was growing up, one of my favorite movies to watch was “Holes.”  This was one of the movies that really made Shia LaBeouf’s career sky rocket.  He played such a big role in this movie and did a great job!  This movie is about a kid who grew up in a city that had a lot of crime in it and was a part of a family who was trying to figure out a recipe to make shoes not stink.  This kid’s name was Stanley.  One day when Stanley was walking home, he was coming out from walking under a bridge and a random pair of shoes hit him on the head.  He says in the movie that his family is used to having bad luck and gives the audience plenty of examples of why he thinks this.  Stanley ends up getting caught by the cops and is convicted of stealing the shoes.  These shoes also were signed by a famous baseball player and the baseball player donated these signed shoes to help raise money for a group home.  Stanley was sent to a camp for convicted juveniles and the kids dug holes all day out in the hot sun.  While the kids and the courts think that they are digging the holes to teach the kids a lesson, the people who own the camp came up with this idea to see if the kids can find anything special.
