Firefly

Firefly is one of the best shows ever on TV that was cancelled too soon or after only one season, consisting of 14 episodes. Firefly was on TV during 2002-2003, it aired on FOX. The was created by the brilliant Joss Whedon, the man behind the Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Firefly is a space western one of the few of that kind. It´s about a group of people who travel through space on the spaceship Serenity. The show stars Nathan Fillion (Castle), Gina Torres, Alan Tudyk, Morena Baccarin and a couple of more people. Despite airing for only one season the show has got a huge cult following and is the 18th highest rated TV show on IMDB. The show was ahead of its time when it aired and one problem with the show was created by FOX by airing the episodes not in chronological order, which is really strange. When the show was cancelled it kind of ended on a cliff-hanger and had a lot of unanswered questions but luckily with the strong following, and reception after it was cancelled, a movie was produced and released in 2005, with that movie fans could get some closure, but fans will never forgive the unjust cancelation of the show.

Michael Jackson

My favorite singer/entertainer of all time is Michael Jackson, the King of Pop. He started his legendary career in his brothers´ band, the Jackson 5. He then went on to a solo career and we all know how that went. Michael Jackson released 6 solo albums and a few solo singles before that. His album Thriller is the best-selling album of all time. He is recognized as the most successful entertainer of all time by Guinness World Records. MJ died in 2009 while in preparation for a comeback tour. Since his death there have been two new albums released, and they jumped quickly on top of the charts. He may have had a very questioning personal life but his careers is almost unmatched by anyone.

I love most of his songs and some of the songs he made revolutionized the genre at the time of their release. He did many music videos that are iconic on their own. Especially the music video for Thriller that can almost be considered a short film than a music video, with a run time of 13 minutes. MJ made a film in 1988 called Moonwalker, where he put his music videos together and ads scenes in between. The movie was fun to watch.

Nolan

One of my favorite directors of all time is Christopher Nolan, the genius behind, the Dark Knight Trilogy, Inception, Interstellar and Memento. He is one of the few directors ever to have more then half of his films on the top 250 films on IMDB, those, he has 7 of 9 feature films he has directed, all of which I mentioned before. The movie that is highest on that list is considered the best superhero movie of all time, The Dark Knight, to be fair he had Heath Ledger as the Joker, which helped the quality of the film. He wrote or co-wrote all of these films, and I can safely say that he and his brother Jonathan Nolan are master storytellers. By watching their movies, you can just see how much effort and thought goes into their storytelling, they don´t just blurt out a screenplay and start shooting. Christopher Nolan is also one of the few directors today that prefers to use practical effect, one of the coolest scenes you see that in, is the spinning corridor in Inception.  instead of relying too much on CGI, and we all know how too much CGI can affect a movie… (cough)… Star Wars prequels. Nolan just really cares about his films and I can´t wait to see his next one, Dunkirk.
