"What's the worst that I can say?
Things are better if I stay.
So long and goodnight,
So long and goodnight!"
On June 20th of this year, a teaser video was released that made people go crazy. The popular band My Chemical Romance posted a video on their Facebook page of flag twirling and one of their most famous songs playing. A number of people thought this meant that the group would be getting back together after they had stopped making music in 2013. They had broken up with a pretty brief post on Facebook that left a lot of fans upset. My Chemical Romance is known for songs like Teenagers, Helena, S.I.N.G., and Welcome To The Black Parade. As a huge fan of theirs, I was definitely disappointed when I heard that they were breaking up. As a pessimist though, when I saw the teaser video I wasn't as excited as others. And I was right. The band wasn't getting back together at all. They were releasing some of the demos from their album The Black Parade for the tenth anniversary of it. That is appreciated, but is definitely not a reunion tour or a new album. I think it would be an understatement to say that they could use some public relations help. The last two announcements by the band, the breakup and the demo album, were not handled well at all. Obviously they didn't mean to upset passionate fans in either situation, but there are better ways to do things than that. They should make another album to make up for it. ;)
