The Witcher is one of my favorite book series. A Witcher is
a man who hunts monsters and creatures for a certain price, and have no emotion
when killing anything. The main character in the series is Geralt of Rivia, who
is of course a Witcher, the Witcher. The story is set in the lands of a place
called The Continent, which was not long ago in a war between elves and dwarves
and the humans. The first novel Introducing The Witcher: The Last Wish, is a collection
of short stories that were published in the 80’s. In each short story Geralt remembers
a contract or job from his past as he searches for his love, the Sorceress
Yennefer of Vengerberg. In the stories Geralt is conveyed as what most think of
him, a cold heartless monster hunter. However, as the stories progress, he is
shown something of a hero to some and a menace to others. Geralt is a Witcher, through
the trials he faced to become a Witcher, he became sterile and devoid of nearly
all emotion. Geralt’s adventures still somehow make him see new things about
the world and change him as a person.
