About Me

Hello, My name is Ryan Lockhart, or DJ Lockdown if you know me. I grew up in a small town in Indiana. I loved sports growing up and became very passionate about them. I have one brother and one sister. My family is my rock even though we fight and don't talk a lot. I just like having a general good time with friends and meeting new people and learning their story.

I decided to major in broadcasting because I called some games during basketball season and really loved it. I also worked with the radio program and enjoyed it as well. My dream in life for my career is to have my own sports talk show. I think I have knowledge of the game as well as a different insight. Thank you for reading and I hoped you enjoyed.

Who is Emma Grace?

             Hello there!
My name is Emma Grace Lehman, I am a freshman here at Huntington University. I am                      majoring in Broadcasting and looking into minoring in ministry. My hometown is Winona                  Lake, Indiana which is right by Warsaw.

I currently have a blog called "Small town girl, Big time hope" I've had it for about two years

now and target teenager and young adult women as my audience. I talk a lot on my blog about
my own struggles following God but also about how much God values each and every
person. The reason I am going into broadcasting is because I want to take my blog and
make it bigger and find more ways to communicate to girls all over the world how much
their creator cherishes and values them.

Some quick facts about me are:

I have two brothers, one older and one younger
I have two dogs, Ginger and Rugby
I photographed my first two wedding's this past summer
I love finding out people's stories
            I love Polar Bears
            I'm writing a book

Well, I hope that gave you a small taste of who I am.

            Emma Grace Lehman

ShelbyPrice

Hey there! I am Shelby Analyce Price, I am from Logansport, Indiana. Let's see, I have danced for 16 years, bowled for 2, played softball for 7, played volleyball for 6, and competed in track and field for 5 years. I am continuing my bowling and dance career here at Huntington. My major is Film Production and I am double minoring in Broadcasting and Journalism. My favorite movie (movies) is Monsters INC. and Monsters University.  We The Kings would have to be my all time favorite band. Fun fact, I've met them four times and I've always been front row for their concerts. I'm really into rap and my favorite artist include Logic, G-Eazy, Hoodie Allen, and Childish Gambino. I am sort of addicted to concerts and in total I have been to 28 concerts and have seen roughly 49 groups live! I have been told I am super outgoing and way too happy a majority of the time. I am not a morning person by any means, sorry Professor Leeper. I promise to try my best and drink like eight cups of coffee! I tend to stay up way to late due to insomnia and I work on low hours of sleep pretty well. My dream vacation is Paris, France. My favorite place that I have ever been to would have to be New York City with South Haven, Michigan coming in as a close second. I hope I get to know you all!

Thomas Gunter

SUHHHH dude, My name is Thomas Gunter I'm from Baltimore, Maryland. I was going to major in business management but something told me that I would not be happy in that career so I decided to switch and go teach special ed. I also bowl for the Huntington University men's bowling team. I have been bowling for about all my life and it's my passion. I'm also a very cool person and if you ever need someone to talk to I'm always a person you could talk to.

I really like a lot of other sports such as baseball, football, and soccer. sports are like my get away from school and a way for me to relieve stress. One thing about me I'm not afraid to share is that I grew up in a very bad place and didn't think I was going to make it to see college but through hard work and dedication I made it.  I really like trying new things, I love going out and meeting new friends.

I love listening to music. I generally like all types of music but my all time favorite is country. I like listening to Luke Bryan, Sam Hunt, and Thomas Rhett. My favorite movies are frozen and fat albert.

Introduction: Reilly Vore

Hi there! My name is Reilly Vore and I'm from Upland, Indiana (home of the Taylor Trojans). Coming from a small town, with a college campus taking up a majority of the space, it's no wonder that I wanted a similar experience when I started furthering my education.
I chose to come to Huntington because of it's wonderful reputation, the small town feel, and the kind and welcoming people. I finally settled on an English Literature and History double major with the hope of possibly going into museum studies or simply going to law school. I also chose Huntington because I got the amazing opportunity to play on the women's golf team and contribute to the sports team at an institution that I have grown to love so much.
As for my personality and interests, I enjoy reading, laughing, watching old movies and IU basketball, and yes, I'm that crazy individual that genuinely loves learning. I love my wonderful family and being outside in God's wonderful creation that inspires me daily.
I can't wait to be involved in this class and get to meet all of you. I'm so happy to be at Huntington and am very excited to see what the future has in store for me here.
See you around, guys.

Bray Snyder: Intro

Hey everyone,

My name is Bray Snyder and I'm majoring in Broadcasting, soon to be double majoring in Broadcasting and Film Production with a minor in Spanish. I was born in Louisville, moved to Norman, Oklahoma where Oklahoma University is for 4 years, and then moved to Bloomington where Indiana University is. I've lived there for 11 years now, and it's safe to say it's my home. I went to a small Christian school in high school where I played soccer, basketball, track, and cross country, was on student council, played in the band and orchestra, started the tech team, and went overseas to Costa Rica for a week. To be fair though it's easier to do all of that in a smaller school. I've played basketball since I was 5 and plan on walking on the basketball team here at HU. I play about 10 instruments, I've recorded a full-length studio album with my dad, I'm an audio buff, and I've grown up around Apple 24/7. I can play on stage, lead worship, record, and live or studio mix just about anything. And not to be cocky, but I'm good.

I'm relatively new to video at a big production, but I'm a quick learner and already have experience behind sports broadcasting equipment. I also have experience in lighting, and I expect that to help out with video production. I have to admit I'm not super into video production yet but I'm ready to jump in.And one of the bigger things about me is that I'm a die-hard Oklahoma Sooners fan, so CFB Saturdays are going to get intense. The biggest thing about my, however, and the thing that defines me is my relationship with Jesus Christ. It's all that I need in life, and I hope the same is true for all of you. Looking forward to a great year with all of you.

Striving to be in Christ,

Bray

Introducing Otto Bjartmarz

Hi guys, my name is Ottó Axel Bjartmarz and I am from Kópavogur, Iceland which is in the capital area right next to Reykjavik. The shortest way to get there from Indiana is either to fly to Chicago or drive there and from there it´s a 6 hour flight. I am the first student ever in HU to be from Iceland and I feel really proud of that. I chose Huntington University because it had all the majors/minors I was interested in, Film production, theater performance and criminal justice.

I am a freshman though I was born in 1996, because high school ends later in Iceland not because I got held back. I am majoring in Film production with the hope of participating in many films in the future. I love acting too so I either want to be a director or an actor. I am also on the golf team.

What I love to do most is just hang out with friends, watch movies or TV shows and also just playing golf. I have one pet and that is my parrot.

Hope we have a great year together, see you later.

Me and my friends during graduation (for those who don´t know I´m in the middle)

P.s. Here is a random sentence in Icelandic:  Ég var að horfa á bíómynd þegar Gambino læddist aftan að mér og stakk mig með heykvísl því ég var ekki bangsinn hans.

Samantha Creager's Intro to all you Lovely people!

Hello! I am Samantha Creager, I am a Film Major that is probably going to add T.V. Fusion  Media (I just call it T.V. Broadcasting) as a second Major. I am from a little Amish  sounding town called Yoder. Yet there are no Amish around me what so ever. Yoder is very close to Fort Wayne though so I usually say I am close to there. I love to dance equally as much I love my Major, which is saying a lot. When I was in High school I enjoyed Color Guard, which in my last winter season won championships. Also I loved the pep band because I could dance with my tambourine to fun songs.
I love  to THINK that I am funny so I am always cracking myself up, I strive to make many people smile as a result of my Major in the near Future as well! I found out that Film production was my calling because of how much I enjoyed doing it. I felt a thrill every time a project turned out the way it was supposed to, or better! I never got bored, was and still am striving to improve upon my self in my profession!  Nice to meet you!

"Kubo and the Two Strings" Movie Review (No Spoilers)

Rating: 9 / 10

Even if you don’t love the enthralling, intricate story or the elaborate mythos, you can certainly appreciate the stop-motion splendor of Kubo and the Two Strings

I will say this: as far as PG-rated “kid’s movies” are concerned, Kubo pulls no punches when it comes to delving into the darker aspects of its intense yet entertaining story. The Sisters, two magical assassins no doubt inspired by V for Vendetta, are played to creepy perfection by Rooney Mara. And, to be perfectly honest, every character in this film is voiced perfectly by a phenomenal cast. Art Parkinson guides us through the intense adventure as Kubo, Charlize Theron is amusing as the strict, no-nonsense Monkey, and Matthew McConaughey expertly balances comic relief and character maturity as Beetle. Though the villain at the end of the film (no spoilers) felt anti-climactic and lacking in clear motivation, the story is overall well written.

Believe me, this film has much more to offer than your average good vs. evil story. This is a mature, dark tale which reminds adults and children alike of the powerful force of memories and the legacy parents bequeath their children. This is a movie which will undoubtedly remain in your mind after watching it, and with Disney and Pixar sticking to films with generally happy tones, Kubo is a refreshing tale of resilient love and sacrifice.
BaileyRothrock

Hi everybody,

My name is Bailey Rothrock and I am a freshman here at Huntington University.  I am from Monticello, Indiana a small town an hour and a half southwest of Huntington.  If Monticello doesn't ring a bell to any of you, how about Indiana Beach on beautiful Lake Shafer? That's right there is "More than just Corn in Indiana."

I am majoring in Agribusiness Management, a program that just was recently opened at Huntington in 2015.  I am very excited about this educational opportunity to be the second class of students to ever study agriculture at Huntington.  I think Dr. Porter will be a great professor and will have a very valuable insight on my future occupation in the field of agriculture.  With a degree in Agribusiness Management I would one day like to be a seed salesman for Monsanto.

I have one sister, Macie who is a freshman in high school.  I also have an English Bulldog named Barkley.  In high school I played football, basketball, and baseball.  My favorite of the three happened to be football.  I am a avid Indianapolis Colts, Indiana Pacers, and Chicago Cubs fan.  When not studying in my free time I enjoy working out or competing in athletic games of any sort.  Also, in my free time away from school you can find me hunting and fishing with my dad or hanging out with friends.

I don't have any experience in the field of Digital Media Arts but I am excited to learn in this new to me subject.  Cant wait to start watching films and blogging with you all!!!

Mary (no sheep included) Devore Introductory Post

My name is Mary Devore and I'm a film production major (still deciding that second major). I'm from Elkhart, Indiana and a graduate of Northridge High School where I competed in show choir, concert choir and solo competitions. I also sang with my church choir, which my father (pictured below) directed. I have a younger brother named Clark (also pictured below) who is a freshman in high school.
Starting when I was very young (we're talking eight or nine) I'd watch all the special features of my favorite movies because I found them very interesting. I wanted to know how everything was made and what jobs people did to make movies so interesting. For a long time that was just an interest I held but did not pursue because I'd decided that I wanted to be a writer. In high school however, I made a series of short video projects. With every project, I improved upon the last and I found greater joy in the process of filmmaking. I discovered that this different medium of storytelling was far more satisfying than writing and I decided that film production was the way to go.

Who is David McCallister?

If you would like to get to know me, there is one thing you should know; I am just like most of you.

Am I the same? No. No one is the exact same, but we are here for a common purpose. That purpose is what we strive to accomplish. Becoming successful in the position that we have placed ourselves in. For me, it happens to be film. It is the one job that does not feel like a job whatsoever.

A little background information about me, is that I attended a vocational school for my final two years of high school. In those two years, my knowledge of film, grew immensely, learning how to edit video within the first two weeks of classes. I believe that was what really made my interest to film grow so quickly. As a junior, I became a 1st place regional and state Digital Cinematographer in the SkillsUSA competition, thus allowing me to become a national qualifier in the same competition. When my senior year came around, it was almost an exact replica of the previous year, I was once again, a 1st place regional and state cinematographer, which again, allowed me to qualify for nationals. Did I win either year at nationals? No. But, it was the experience that helped me grow, and learn more about becoming a filmmaker.

Who the Heck is Daniel Carpenter?

Who am I?

That’s a really good question. I am many things: a devout christian actively seeking new ways to implement God into his daily life, an award-winning filmmaker who desires to share his ideas with others, and a sensitive, social guy who loves free hugs and having deep conversations with other people. I love movies, especially superhero movies, sci-fi, fantasy, action, thriller, and drama.

What I enjoy more than movies is filmmaking. I’ve been making movies since I was a wee little lad at the age of five. I filmed the majority of my earlier movies all by myself: acting, directing, editing…everything. I have played Revolutionary War heroes, a deaf housekeeper, a vengeful supervillain, and even Jesus. I have won several awards at different film festivals in my area, and I have plans to release a feature length film shortly after graduating.

If you want to check out my work, feel free! My film company, Illusionist Pictures, can be found at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCUZrBmUlMRDw9JuhTuHlhgA and my older films can be found in my archive at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCmdzL9EgvNnnCdmwY9O0Z5Q. It’s a shameless plug, I know, but hopefully some of you guys can check my channels out and recruit me for your projects!

Let Me Introduce Myself

Hi, my name is Delaney Krueger and I'm majoring in animation.  I've lived in Indianapolis my whole life, but I dream of moving to California.  I have an older sister named Madison who's studying music business at Anderson University.  My dad is a sign language interpreter (no, that doesn't mean I know sign language), and my mom is a special education teacher.  I've played volleyball since I was in 6th grade and played all four years of varsity.

My two passions are art/design and people.  Animation is my way of perfectly combining the two.  I want to make art come to life and use it to create emotions in my viewers.  I'm new to the process, but I know I'll come to love it.  I had a week long internship at DreamWorks Animation Studio in Glendale, California and I also toured Disney Animation Studios in North Hollywood.  This experience made my passion a reality and confirmed my path.

I was born into a Christian family, and accepted Christ myself when I was a freshman.  I was baptized while on a missions trip to Nicaragua in a waterfall on the side of a volcano.  I look forward to furthering my walk with Christ while here at Huntington.

My name Is Josh Wilson 😘

Hello out there to whoever is reading this! I'm Josh, a freshman at HU and also a two time rookie of the year. Yeah, that's right. When I was younger I wanted to work at Chuck E Cheese for the rest of my life. I guess I should write more since everybody else is. I'm from  a small town in Michigan where people like to drive their tractors instead of cars for some reason. I've known most of my class since kindergarten and it was really hard to leave all of them behind and come here.

I'm really Glad I did though. I've met so many awesome people already and can't wait to meet the rest of you too! 😎 I don't really know how I ended up at Huntington. My brother graduated from here, but I never pictured myself going here as well. My favorite sport is football and my favorite team is the Detroit Lions, who I pray will win a super bowl before I'm dead. Want to know anything else? All you have to do is ask. Lets all have a party later.....

ConnorGates

Hey friends! My name is Connor Gates and I'm from Knox, Indiana. You can find it in the north-west near South Bend and Mishawaka. This year, I will be studying film production as a freshman at Huntington University. I graduated from Knox High School this June as well. Not only am I excited to learn more about my passion, but coming to a completely different town gets my blood rushing. A camera has always intrigued me for some reason. The whole concept of recording a video or taking pictures through a prism, behind the lens, gets the creative juices flowing for me. In the future, I hope to become a successful director and writer.

My biggest hobbies are pretty obvious by now. So let's get into my minor accomplishments. Throughout my high school career, I was on honor roll and became the manager for the ladies softball team. My school was full of friendly faces, huge opportunities, and not to mention lots of challenges. Huntington has grasped my attention with all of those aspects, so it would have been a major mistake not to come here for my next four years. Other interests include: watching TV shows, surfing the internet, making new friends, playing guitar, and finding the good out of any situation.

Despite all those enjoyable things, I also have a strong relationship with God. He has guided me in all portions of life and will do nothing different for the remainder of my time. I wish everyone good luck in this class and year!

Introduction: Raul Martinez Jr.

To really get a grasp on who I am, I believe it would be best if we took a step back and imagined a scenario.

In this scenario a man is walking down the street thinking to himself about his life. He's really getting into it. Starting from the beginning the man looks at all his past worries and dreams. The time he spent looking for his true love, the restless nights where he'd study so he could earn his college degree. Time is even spent on the little things like choosing what to wear that morning and whether he should order takeout for lunch. How he feels about his life is never questioned though. Truly he’s at peace with himself.

Meanwhile across the street at McDonald’s I’m waiting for no one to be looking at me so I can eat my 20 McChicken Nuggets while pretending to be busy texting someone on my phone when obviously no one has texted me.

My name is Raul Martinez Jr. My parents, two brothers (one older, one younger), and I am from LaGrange, Indiana. Not much to do there except go to other towns and watch movies or hang out with friends. My favorite movie is The World’s End, and TV show wise it’s a tossup between Doctor Who and Community.

Racing Into the New Year

  • I'm a huge pro wrestling fan
  • I love the Pittsburgh Steelers
  • All the Fast & Furious movies are my favorite (if I had to pick one, Fast Five)

Brianna Fish's Introduction

My name is Brianna Fish. I'm from Jackson, MI. I have one sister, Kayla, an 85 pound chocolate lab that hates thunderstorms, Kennedy, and two amazing parents, who have influenced me greatly. I went to a tiny high school called Vandercook Lake. I graduated as co-valedictorian. I was involved in as much as I could be: Student Council, Most Teens Don't, Quiz Bowl, National Honor Society, Yearbook, and Bowling among other things.

I started bowling my freshman year. I had an amazing team. My freshman year one of my teammates was the Individual State Champ. My sophomore year, she was Runner Up. Freshman and sophomore year we were State Champs as a team. My junior and senior year we placed fifth as a team at States. My senior year, I was the Individual State Champ. Below, I have a picture with my coaches and then with my family after I won. I'm going to continue my bowling career here at Huntington. I hope to accomplish more great things with an amazing team. It should be lots of fun!
I do a little bit of art on the side. I took pottery all four years of high school and enjoyed it immensely. I tend to paint with acrylics more than anything now though. I got my artsy ways from dad, he's a professional tattoo artist and body piercer.

I'm double majoring in Social Work and Psychology. That side of me came from my mom, she works with adults who are developmentally disabled. My aunt is also developmentally disabled, growing up with her has been a positive influence on my life and has impacted me greatly. I can't wait to start doing what I love. Huntington is the perfect place for me!

My Introduction

Hi! My name is Jessica Fazzalore, but you can call me Jess if you want, but I'll answer to either. I'm from Keyser, West Virginia and I've lived there all my life, so this is the first time I've ever moved away from home. Back at home I have a dog named Sam, a corgi mix that hates anybody that walks past our house, but when she's not barking at complete strangers she's a sweet dog that likes to lay on people whether they want her to or not.

Anyway, I'm a freshman majoring in Animation and I hope to either work with places like Disney and Pixar to make movies or to produce my own comic series.

As you've probably already guessed, my hobbies are drawing and creating stories, but I also enjoy playing video games, watching anime, movies, and TV shows, reading books and manga, drinking tea, and listening to, I guess you could say, not ordinary music.

For Example:

That's pretty much all there is to know about me. Thanks for reading and hope you all have a good day!

paige Schreiber 1st blog post

My name is Paige Schreiber and was raised and lived in South Bend, Indiana which is a town about two hours from here. I love to play sport especially tennis, but I really like watching football. I am very shy at first but once you get to know me I am very much an extrovert. The reason why I chose to come to Huntington University is because it felt like a home away from home for me.

More about why I chose Huntington is because I wanted to double majoring in broadcast and film, and Huntington had a really good rep for being very engaged in the film business. I would like to be able to become a producer out in the Los Angeles, Chicago, or the New York area. A passion of mine is being able to work within either sports broadcasting or creating film that matter, that can make a difference. Filming to me is so personal because it has helped me through high school see through the lives of others. Just getting to help make something successful and watch it unfold into something so much greater is what I love about the business.

Thanks for taking the time out of your day to read my blog post.

Paige

NoahTobias

My name is Noah Tobias and I am a Freshman at Huntington University.  I am from Zanesville, Indiana and it is about 20 minutes from the University.  I am the fourth generation in my family to go to Huntington but I also would've been the fourth generation in my family to go to Taylor University. The reason why I chose to come to Huntington is because it feels like home for me.

I have gone to Huntington men's basketball games ever since I was really little, so I've been around this campus for a very long time.  I am majoring in Broadcasting and Fusion Media.  What I would like to do with my major is become a sports commentator for a major TV company.  I love sports and have always been around them.  My family's goal is to go to all of the Major League Baseball stadiums.  To this day, I have been to 24 stadiums out of the 30 stadiums. I also love to play golf and tennis with my friends and family.

During this summer, I worked for a professional golf course as a groundskeeper.  This was the second summer that I have been apart of Sycamore Hills.  I have learned so much and am so thankful for all of the experiences.  Also, I was with my friends a lot and went to a ton of graduation parties!  It was so much fun being able to go and support all of my close friends that graduated with me at Norwell High School.  I am very thankful to be a Forester and I can't wait to see what God has in store for me here!
