KD The Last Step
The Thunder were looking good during the 2015 season as the finished the regular season as the third seed in the Western Conference with a 55–27 record. The problem being that they had the third best record in the west. The Golden State Warriors were on fire breaking the record for best overall record that season. Right behind the Warriors were the San Antonio Spurs with an outstanding record as well. In the first round of the playoffs, the Thunder faced the Dallas Mavericks. Durant had his worst postseason shooting performance, both by percentage and number of misses, of his career in game two of the series. After defeating the Mavericks 4–1, the Thunder moved on to face the San Antonio Spurs in the second round. In Game 4 of the series, Durant tied his playoff career high with 41 points to help the Thunder even the series at 2–2. The Thunder defeated the Spurs 4–2 in what most fan thought was a shocker. The Thunder were the underdogs by far. On top of that, most fans were expecting this to be the last season for Tim Duncan. So, it was expected for the spurs to go on a run and contend. The Thunder advanced to the Western Conference Finals where they faced the Golden State Warriors. Despite going up 3–1 in the conference finals, the Thunder were defeated 4–3 by the Warriors to be eliminated from the playoffs.
