Nick and Brooke find themselves in a dinner discussing their
broken relationships. They have many cheesy realizations, here are a few of my
favorites:
- · There is no perfect relationship. There will always be struggle. We just need to choose who we want to struggle with.
- · We can't allow the ones we love to determine how we love.
- · If an individual is genuinely committed to their significant other, they won’t allow themselves to find perfection in someone else.
- · Don’t leave unknown things unsaid. However, at the end of the day, we might want to say things, but don't ruin the moment. Reiterating your feelings to someone who’s already felt loved through your actions is unnecessary. Just let the actions speak for themselves.
- · People put so much emphasis on their first love, but what if the second love is more important? After all, they’re the one who showed you that it’s possible to love more than one person in this life.
That’s
why I love this film and why I’d recommend it to anyone. Chris Evans directs
and stars in one of the few love stories I’ve seen that ends slightly
unsatisfactory. You wait for it to hit Brooke and Nick that they’re meant to
be, but it doesn’t She’s still married and they both respect that. They part
after expressing their gratitude to one another and what happens after that is
a mystery.
