This past Sunday at church my
pastor talked about the return of Christ and how Christians need to be ready.
He challenged us to defend our faith and stand up for what is right. The world
we live in today is full of people who declare the Lord as their savior, but
then live a totally different life-style that does not reflect what they
proclaim. You can fake on the outside that you love Jesus and live for him, but
one day your true heart will be revealed. As Christians, we can be ready for
the return of Christ by becoming saved. We need to be a steward of the
possessions we have been given because they are God’s. Something else my pastor
challenged us with was this question: “If someone told you that they would kill
you if you believed in Jesus, what would you say?” Would you lie so that you
could live, or would you die for your faith? This comes down to what a person
loves more: their life or Jesus. It is important that we spend time evaluating
ourselves so that when that day comes, we can stand up and say that Jesus is
more important than our lives. I want to be ready for the day when Christ
returns or calls me home.
