Comfort Movies

Something that I love about film is that someone always, or most of the time, if they enjoy movies, has a “comfort” movie.  This can be defined as just a go-to movie, one you just enjoy, one that reminds you of good times, whatever.

For me, the Star Wars films are my comfort movies.  I actually have two, Star Wars and Fast & Furious.  I think Star Wars is just a little higher up in terms of comfort movies simply because it reminds me of my childhood.

I cannot tell you how big of a Star Wars fan I was.  And listen, I know there are people out there that are probably way bigger Star Wars fans than me.  They probably have read the books and actually sat through the Clone Wars and know the family tree of every character ever and blah blah whatever.

That’s not the point.  The point is, when I watch Star Wars (it really does not matter which one), it reminds me of when I was little and how amazed I was at what I was watching.  I just have so many good memories of having lightsaber battles in the driveway, or my neighbor giving me his collection of the McDonalds toys promoting Episode III after I had surgery.

So that’s my comfort movie, what’s yours?
