Are Films Giving Too Much in Trailers

Before a movie comes out into theaters, we are given a peek inside with the help of a trailer. I personally believe that we give way too much information in trailers and that we need to stay away from longer than a minute trailers. When you make a trailer that is more than a minute or two, you tell the story of what is in the movie without telling the whole thing but that’s too much time to bring in an audience if they already know too much. My suggestion is to make a .45 second video of the movie and given them enough to know the basis of the film and to get them excited. I believe that trailers today are great but with too much information and what is in the movie, it defeats the purpose of seeing the film because you already saw it in two minutes.
