Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the
Clones is the 2nd film in the Star Wars Saga. Although, it is the 5th
film in order of production. In my opinion, it’s smack-dab in the middle on my
list (of the 7 films).
If you haven’t already guessed, this film
(and the Prequel Trilogy) revolve around Anakin Skywalker. We’ve now
fast-forwarded almost 10 years from Episode I. Both Anakin and Former-Queen-Present-Day-Senator
Padmé Amidala haven’t seen each other since the end of the Phantom Menace. After
an attempt on her life, Anakin is assigned to protect Padmé while the Jedi
Order investigate the disturbing murder attempts. Meanwhile, Anakin has to screw
up everything and confess his unhealthy infatuation (that he’s had for the last
10 years) to Padmé. Long story short, they leave Naboo (where they’re supposed
to be hiding, for her benefit) so Anakin can chase a “White Rabbit” and they end
up getting themselves and Obi-Wan Kenobi captured. Then the Clone Wars begin!
Anakin loses his arm and we finally see Yoda do something other than speak “Object-Subject-Verb.”
SPOILER ALERT #1: The Death Star Plans
show up at the end of the film. SPOILER ALERT #2: Padmé and Anakin marry in
secret (Which is always a good idea when there’s a war beginning and one of the
involved parties is an Elected Official).
Moral of the Story? Don’t chase white
rabbits, especially when they involve forbidden love. It’s not a good idea.
Take my word for it, or just read the rest of the posts that are coming soon.
