Soul Surfer

I recently watched the movie Soul Surfer and thought I would blog about it. It is such an inspirational movie and it is based on a true story. The movie is about a girl named Bethany Hamilton who is absolutely amazing at surfing and lives super close to the beach. One morning when surfing with friends, Bethany was attacked by a shark and lost her arm. Her optimism throughout the movie was truly inspirational. She always wanted to be independent and try to do as much as she could, even with one arm. Bethany’s faith was evident throughout the film. She never gave up and went on mission trips to help children who were less fortunate than her. If I would have been in her position, I would find it extremely difficult to serve others when I just faced such a tragic thing. Bethany ended up surfing again about one month after her accident and since then won many championships. At the age of 21 she became a professional surfer. Bethany Hamilton is a role model for many people and shows her strong faith in God and his plan for her life.
