The
artist continue to all show no regret only longing for a time long past, but still burning inside
them waiting to resurface and consume them. As the chorus begins Mick starts to
watch old concerts and music videos, with every passing image more desire to
reset the fire awakens. He starts to play the piano again, and we then see a
shot of him looking off in the distance having come to the unspoken conclusion
he needs to start recording again. From this shot on we do not see him in his
house reminiscing anymore. Except for when fire is shown over the records he
owns in the end (he himself doesn’t appear however). His actions being
motivated by the lyrics of verse two…
“I, I want my thoughts to be heard
The unspoken words of my wisdom
Today, as the light starts to flow
Tomorrow who knows who will listen
But my life has no language in love
No word from above is appearing
Oh the time, in time there's a fire
that's stoked
With a reason of hope and believing”
I
feel as if this is one of the best ways to strike a chord with their audience
both past and present. With the lyrics being able to fit with anybody’s lost
passions and loved ones. As their 40th anniversary begins I’m sure
there is much more in store for this once great band.
