For the
little bit that we talked about women in animation, I really enjoyed learning
about the different films women made to get their point across. In the second women in animation section, the
reading tied together well with the film Au
Jour. This excerpt was interesting to
read to see how much the women had to go through to film the things they
wanted, which happened to be controversial topics. There are many people in this world that feel
differently about issues, but men in particular have different feelings than
women in many different topics. Watching
Au Jour and then listening to the
girls in the class explain what it meant to them was very helpful because as I said,
men don’t understand everything that women are thinking. This film tells about the feelings that a
woman has after a man leaves that has been with her for a long time. As I think about what I like most about this
film, I think back to high school and talking to my mom. For example, in a relationship something
happened and being a high schooler, I didn’t understand anything from the girl’s
point of view. My mom explained to me
how girls think differently and I learned from my mother’s opinions. I know I’m not a girl, but these films from a
women’s point of view were eye opening and I realized how much drama really
goes on.
