Indie video games are something of their own. If compared to
regular video games they are somewhat better. Indie games may not be the
biggest, have the most amazing graphics, or have the best or biggest world to
explore; however, they have the some of the best stories. The indie game market
is greatly undervalued. When most people buy games, they tend to buy the sequel
game that is just the same game with different guns and high resolution
graphics. Most video games, made by big budget companies, count on the gameplay
and graphics to sell the game, and think they can ignore any story whatsoever by
casting A-List actors to voice the characters. However, indie video games have
more of the heart and feeling put into the story, as well as the gameplay. For
most indie games, the developers use the game to tell a story of themselves and
to put a message out to the public. Yet, the genre is undervalued because the
games have “terrible” graphics or does not have beautifully animated graphics
and combat. Indie games are more often the best because they have a story that
had work put into it rather than just a quick script that was written to sell
the game just as fast.
