Spyro the Dragon

This is another one of my favorite game series.

Spyro is a young dragon who, in the original games, does his best to protect many different realms.  Spyro is a small purple dragon with large orange horns, orange wings.  He travels around with his dragonfly friend sparks.  He travels through portals so that he can go and protect the innocent. 

The original games were on the Playstation 1 system and were made at the start of 3dimensional games.  The original games were meant to able to be played by a younger audience and were mainly platformers.  Most of the characters were made up of rigid models but still had some great detail for the time period.

Many other games have been made after the first three.  Another Spyro game that enjoyed was called The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night.  This game was the second one in a trilogy.  This trilogy began to dwell more into story based gameplay and combat mechanics than in platforming.  This change occurred due to the original games being developed by my favorite game developers Insomniac studios and the new developers Krome studios.  I actually enjoyed the direction that the new developers took while still keeping the game as a platformer in its roots.
