Atlanta

Atlanta is about a young man named Earnest who is trying to make his way as a music manager. His cousin, Alfred, has taken up the persona of Paper Boi to be able to pursue his rap career and Alfred takes Earnest on as his manager. The show delves into the life of this small time rapper, and the problems they go through in order to promote his rap and to try to gain fame. This story has been called "The New Seinfeld" in the way that some refer to it to be a show about nothing. I disagree with that because the show deals with the struggles of today's modern man. Like Seinfeld, Earnest goes through his life unsure of his meaning and only really wants a chance to find that. The naturalistic view of this show really brings light to what it means to live in a world where you may not find meaning. Every episode is almost an endeavor to be able to find something that has meaning. Earnest goes through this complex constantly, and even quit college because he felt like there may have not been anything there for him. This show is incredibly funny, but it also brings light to how we live now, and it's a show we really need. If you ever have the chance, I would suggest you watch it, though some of it's themes are rather mature.
