Small Hands in a Big World - Coby Solms

This morning after watching Keaton Henson’s short, Small Hands, I couldn’t help but think about how we as Christians are small hands on the great big Earth. How many times does it feel like we are insignificant, and we can’t do anything about the hurdles that lie before us? To be honest with all of you, I’ve felt that way very often as of recently. We can choose to wallow in our pity, or we can pray about it and ask God to use us so that we no longer feel insignificant. One person alone, without God in their life, is just a measly set of hands. But, God can use anyone to fulfill his plans – even our figurative “small hands.” I’m reminded of an old expression that goes something like this, “Many (small) hands make light work.”

Working together, our little hands can change the world. Despite the fact that little hands (or paws) in the short film hurt the innocent animals in the forest, we can choose look at it from the hunter/predator’s perspective – they were hunting to feed themselves and their families. As Christians, we need to work together with our “small hands” to fulfill God's will and in turn, he will fill our appetites spiritually.

Yours Truly,
Coby Solms
