The Truth of This World
All of us, no matter how smart, beautiful, fill in the blank, are sinners inside. Everyone can try to do their best to be good, but to no avail. No matter how “good” we are, we cannot get to Heaven that way, but only through the love of Christ and the acceptance of His love into our hearts. The reality is that everyone can choose that free gift of forgiveness also, yet so many reject it. Last weekend my senior pastor spoke on where our home truly is.
He stated that there truly are several answers to that. The earth, no matter how many years you live, is your temporary home. Your eternal home is what you choose, whether that be God’s love, or the world’s love. Your eternal home is either Heaven or Hell. He ended powerfully in saying, “If you are a Christian, this world is the closest you will ever come to Hell. Yet if you are not a Christian, this world is the closest you will ever come to Heaven.” We have a choice, and everyday we can say I choose the world, or I choose God.
