I recently watched Pixar’s short, Tin Toy. It focuses on a brand new, shiny tin toy. At first, the viewers just see the Tin Toy and some inanimate baby toys lying on the floor. Then we see a baby enter the frame, the Tin Toy runs under the couch to hide and finds other toys hiding from the baby. Next, the baby falls and begins to cry. Then the Tin Toy goes out from under the couch to soothe the crying baby, only to have the baby pick up and start playing with the Tin Toy’s box and completely ignore the Tin Toy.
How many times do we as Christians do the same thing to God? So many times we act like the infant in the short film and weep when we fall on our faces and hurt ourselves or our pride in some manner. So when our Tin Toy (God) comes along to pick us up and console us, we pick up our box (vices), and we ignore God’s assistance. After watching that film, it allowed me to see things through God’s eyes and to see what it’s like when we call out to him, only to pick up our vices for our personal comfort and ignore Him.
Oh, and here's a Toy Story 2 Easter Egg/Screen Grab. Enjoy.
Yours Truly,
