There I was, sitting in the theater with some other
Huntington students. The movie was beginning and I began to think about how I
had not envisioned myself watching this movie.
When I had first seen the trailer for Kubo and The Two Strings, I wasn’t intrigued. From the trailer the
movie came off to me as not something I would normally be into. I’d loved
Coraline and ParaNorman, but this one just didn’t catch my attention.
While I hadn’t envisioned myself watching the movie, I was there watching the movie. And, honestly, after the movie was over I felt like it was okay. The characters were all right, but I felt as though I didn’t really get to know the characters in the movie. Matthew McConaughey’s Beetle was my favorite character throughout the movie, but the rest seemed like I was missing backstory. Plot wise the movie was predictable, and not once during the movie did something happen where I was surprised. I will say this though; they did an excellent job incorporating the music in the movie.

Though I didn’t really feel very entertained after watching
it that night, I do have the urge to watch it again.
