Intro for Josiah Wilson

Hey, I'm Josiah Wilson. I'm 22 years old, a sophomore here at HU, and a Journalism major. I graduated from Huntington North High School, and joined the Army. Served for 3.5 years as an infantryman, and now that I'm out, I'm using the GI Bill to get my bachelor's degree. I really enjoy the whole process of getting a news story out from start to finish. Research, interviews, writing, editing, and everything else is just really fun and a great challenge for me.

In my off time I like to game, a lot, and read fantasy books, with a little bit of history thrown in. I'm a big PC guy, and plan to build my own custom desktop. Favorite books are definitely the Lord of the Rings series by Tolkien. Masterful pieces of work and he was the father of today's fantasy.

I enjoy a lot of different types of music, but my favorite genres are Irish folk and metal (many different sub genres in there, but I like most of them). My favorite bands are Gaelic Storm, August Burns Red, Parkway Drive, For Today, The Wolfe Tones, and The High Kings. I also listen to a lot of Gogol Bordello, but they're kind of an anomaly when it comes to genre.

As far as other hobbies go, I can be something of an adrenaline junkie. I like climbing on pretty much anything, and roller coasters. This summer my family went to the Grand Canyon, and I was able to get a great picture really close to the edge of a steep drop, as well as some good ones of the canyon itself. It was a great experience and one I would recommend to everyone.
