Hey guys! My name is Derek Nichols and I am currently a sophomore here at Huntington. I was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, but I now live in a small town outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I am double majoring (for now) in Special Education and Math Education. I am the second-youngest of four brothers. For three summers before the most recent one, I worked at Geneva College on their paint crew with my older brother. It sounds like a horrible job, and it was. This last summer, I decided to take a leap of faith and work as a camp counselor at Beulah Beach, a Christian summer camp in Vermilion Ohio. The experience was easily the best of my life, and I plan on returning there as long as I can.
In high school, I played soccer, baseball, and basketball, and now I decided to limit it to just soccer for Huntington. With a teaching degree from Huntington, I plan on becoming a teacher at an elite school, while using my summers to operate some sort of Bible camp. My passions include sudoku puzzles, Fifa, lip-syncing, dabbing, McDonald’s iced coffee, procrastinating, and cliff-jumping. I am really excited for this class, even though I do not know the first thing about Digital Media Arts. So this will definitely be interesting, but I am pumped to get started!
