Glory to Ukraine

Earlier this semester I posted about Winter on Fire, which is a documentary about the Maidan Revolution in Ukraine. That's been done and over with for a few years now, although the repercussions are still having an effect in the country. One of the main things that happened is the Donbass region split off from the rest of Ukraine, and, with Russian support, has been fighting against the Ukrainian army. A civil war of sorts.

This is still happening today, although there isn't very much coverage from the mainstream media. People are dying, towns and civilians are getting shelled, and despite the "ceasefire agreement", there is still a lot of conflict. Russia wants to continue this proxy war against Ukraine because it keeps them in a state of conflict and unrest, and Putin's ultimate goal is to grow Russia's territory, probably in a similar manner to the old USSR. Unless Europe and America are willing to throw force behind their words, it is all too possible that Putin will take over some nations in Eastern Europe. However, Ukraine and other Eastern European countries continue to stand strong and unafraid despite Putin's aggression.
