KD part 6 Big expectations, low rewards

The season of the lockout-shortened 2012 season was an interesting one. Milestones came in plenty for Durant, as he recorded his first career 50 point game, scoring 51 points against the Nuggets. At the All-Star Game, his second consecutive, he scored 36 points and was awarded his first NBA All-Star Game Most Valuable Player Award. He finished the year with a scoring average of 28 points per game, earning his third straight scoring title. Behind his play, the Thunder won 47 games, which felt like a disappointment compared to the previous year. The Thunder entered the playoffs as the Western Conference's number two seed. In Game 1, of the first round against the Mavericks, Durant rose to the occasion by hitting a game-winner with 1.5 seconds remaining. Oklahoma City would go on to defeat three top teams to find a spot in the finals against the Miami Heat. In a year full of highs, the major low came at the end of the year when the Miami Heat outlasted them in the Finals.Image result for kevin durant
