Music is a very compelling medium. Out of all the different means of communication, it is the one that can convey the most emotion and meaning, at least to me. There's something for every person and every mood. The human race has managed to discover a way to put basically any emotion into their music and other people can listen to it and empathize, or feel empathized with. And with the advent of the modern information age came music videos. Although these were ways to get more publicity for bands, to sell more records, and to make songs more well known, in today’s music scene, many music videos are another way to convey a message. Sometimes it fits with the song, and sometimes the music video is so far removed from the song it can make me scratch my head.
One thing stands true though, a well-crafted video accompanied by a well-crafted song is capable of making me feel much more than either one on its own. In this, the two mediums, film and music, have been joined amazingly. Although I, and my data limit, enjoy music without video, it’s always a treat to watch a great music video for a great song.
