Movie Villains: Grandpa Joe

Grandpa Joe from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is one of the most sinister movie villains of all time, surpassing Voldermort, Darth Sidious, and Scar from Lion King. Why is this you ask? There are a couple of reasons, and they prove that Grandpa Joe is an all time scumbag.

>Grandpa Joe pretends to be bedridden while his daughter and grandchild perform menial labor for minimal pay. How do we know this? The minute Charlie brings home the golden ticket, suddenly he can walk after being in bed for years. And not only walk, but dance around the room. Only a true sociopathic individual would pretend to not be able to walk while his family has to work day and night.
 >Grandpa Joe encourages Charlie to steal more than once. While in the factory, he tells Charlie to steal fizzy lifting drinks because no one is looking. This almost leads to Charlie losing the fortune, but thanks to Charlie's diligence he gives back the everlasting gobstopper and he wins. Which by the way, Grandpa Joe wanted to give to Slugworth. Also before they go into the factory Grandpa Joe says "It doesn't matter where Charlie got the bread" implying that grandpa Joe is a serious criminal.
>Grandpa Joe sees  four children likely die and gives it no thought. In fact, he seems to relish this because it means Charlie can win the contest. Poor, naïve Charlie has no idea. He believes it is like a game. But Grandpa Joe, and the psycho he is, knows.
>Grandpa Joe clearly has not taught his daughter well. This is obviously to cover up his blatant corruption. She states that there are 100 million people in the world (1971). 3,766,754,345 was the actual number. Grandpa Joe is withholding information so everyone else will be dumber and he can stay in control of his family in a kind of unknowing dictatorship

In short, Grandpa Joe  might be the greatest movie villain of all time. He truly represents all wrong in the world today.
