I just recently watched the Road to El
Dorado for the first time in a long time. I havn´t seen it since I was a kid. I
loved this movie when I was a kid and the sad part was I had it recorded on a
VHS tape and when that got ruined I forgot the name of the movie when I tried
to find it later. It took me many years to find it again and since then I have
watched it twice.
I love this movie it is fun, energetic and
creative, I only wish it was longer because what I noticed now was that some
parts I felt were over too quick. The movie is about two friends who get
onboard a ship they are not allowed on and after escaping it along with a horse
they find land. They have a map that is supposed to show the way to El Dorado
and apparently they are on the land which the map shows. They follow the map
and find El Dorado. When they arrive there the people of El Dorado mistake them
for their Gods. Since they want the gold which the city is made of and have a
lot they pretend to be Gods. It mostly goes to plan but eventually they are
revealed as fake. They eventually leave El Dorado and in the process ruin the
entrance because there are evil men on their way to it.
I love this movie and feel it is really
underrated when it comes to DreamWorks movies, because it one of the best from
them. The fun thing I noticed this time is that even if the men weren´t Gods in
pretending to be they fixed a lot in the city and gave a lot of people hope for
better living.
