Big Hero 6 is a 2014 release from Walt Disney Animation Studios. It’s
based in the city of San Fransokyo and centers around a young robotics prodigy
named Hiro Hamada. Next to Tadashi (his adult brother),
Hiro’s closest friend is Baymax, a robot whose singular purpose is to take care
of people. When a shattering turn of events pitches Hiro into the middle of a treacherous
conspiracy, he transforms Baymax and his other friends, Go Go Tamago, Wasabi,
Honey Lemon, and Fred into a posse of high-tech heroes.
The
tragedy being the death of Tadashi in a large fire. We quickly realize that
life isn’t fair. If you stopped watching right here, you’d be really frustrated
that Tadashi died so soon. But, you’ll miss the big picture of the whole film.
Hiro would not have gone on to form the Big Hero 6 squad to investigate and
avenge Tadashi’s death. Even though it’s rough to lose a sibling, he’s able to
make metaphorical lemonade with the very sour lemons he’s been handed. Sometimes
life isn’t fair, but it’s important to see the bigger picture before we give
up. Then, we have the opportunity to make our metaphorical lemonade with the lemons
life throws at us.
