Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles -- Eternal Memories

The world is covered in miasma, a thick air poisonous to all sentient species and most creatures. The only thing that keeps people alive are giant crystals, which ward away the miasma. However, the crystals must be rejuvenated with myrrh, mystic water from large trees, every year. It is your job, along with your friends, to brave the unknown in search of myrrh for your town's crystal (as every town has a crystal). You collect myrrh in a crystal chalice, which keeps you safe from the miasma, which you must return to your town with. As you go on, you encounter other crystal caravans such as yourselves, and you keep a journal of your adventures. As you spin and record memories, you travel the world, in search of answers and myrrh. As you unravel the mystery of the miasma, it dawns on you that you are beginning to forget your memories, just like the tale was told; a great demon that consumes memories, that's how people forget the most fond memories.
