Geri's Game

            When we watched this film in class, I think it got just about the most laughs out of all of the shorts that we watched.  It never lost y attention and I didn’t want to miss any part of it because it was funny.  I think to myself, why is this certain film one of the most humorous films I have seen?  Is it because it was an older person as the main character, or is it because of the story alone?  The story is so simple.  It’s just a man playing a game of chess against himself in a park.  In class, we talked about how the story line is one of the most important parts of making a popular and well liked short film.  I think this, along with facial expressions and sounds made this a great film.  

            The film brought happiness to me personally and I think this is mostly because of the sounds and facial expressions that the character made.  The laughing sounds and the confused sounds when he was either winning or losing at that moment was comical to say the least.  The facial expressions also added a lot of character to Geri, for example when he switched the table and made a devious smile to himself on the opposite side of the table was my favorite one.  Geri’s looks were also amusing because his nose is bigger than normal life and the way he acted was a good move to include by the creators.  I think the creators of this made a great animation film because of the story, sounds, and facial expressions.
