Emergence/Ascension

I apologize in advance for not being able to place a picture from the actual film here, though I found something that would work well as a replacement picture. While it's obvious that the short film was about the ascension of Jesus (now that we discussed it), as I watched the film, I was very confused. Looking back, it all makes sense. The reflective surface near the top of the water looks more like the sky, opening to allow the ascending Jesus into heaven. More bubbles become present as the man slowly rises up, creating a "pillar of light" image, illuminating him as he rises toward the surface. The deep blue of the water, and the emptiness of the film just as the man begins to float towards the surface makes us think that someone is dead, or dying; however, we know its just the opposite. Someone is returning not from death but from life, to something greater than our comprehension; to the "surface" in which we all belong. The film perfectly illuminates the ascension in a way that most people can comprehend, without much use of special effects, no less. This ties in with how extraordinary the ordinary is, while something viewed as extraordinary can be viewed with ordinary means.
